37 Unit Affordable Housing Development

Kergilliack Rd is a scheme for 37 residential dwellings in Falmouth, Cornwall. The site benefited from and outline planning approval and 4D Architects Studio submitted a Reserved Matters application which was approved in March 2021.

The project is for a local Affordable Housing Provider and will be delivered as 100% affordable, helping to address the high need for affordable housing in the area. The scheme will consist of a mix of social rent and shared ownership housing.

4D Architects Studio were appointed in June 2020 to develop, produce and submit a reserved Matters planning application by mid-August 2020. This was obviously a tight timeframe; however, it was achieved by our dedicated team.

The site is located on the edge of Falmouth and forms one of the local councils allocated housing sites. The layout and arrangement of the site is largely lead due the geometry of the site. The design utilises local materials and local vernacular language to create a modern scheme that retains a sense of place. The scheme also provides 1000m² of Public Open Amenity Space for residents.
